Two new links I wanted to point out. First is my brother, who has just embarked on a journey to get his PhD in Mediaeval Art at the University of York, in York England. He's the "Other Connard." For the next couple of years I'll have peeps in both New York and Old York. I'll eventually decide which one I like better, but for now both its Vikings and (relative) proximity to me give Old York the Edge. Good luck bro, please don't develop a Yorkie accent.

Second (and completely unrelated) is a permalink to David Brooks' page on the NYT. He's getting a lot of crap lately from the chattering classes, with the left calling him a hack and the right calling him a sell-out, but to me that just means he's honest and worth reading. His latest piece is another must-read.
